Call for opens and IBIS related patent disclosures: - None AR Review: - None New items: IBISCHK extension to test executables: - Discussion delayed until Michael Mirmak can join 6.0 IBISCHK development - Mike: Should we proceed with a 6.0 parser without the executable test? - Bob: We should. We might pay extra for the executable work. - Mike: It does fall outside the usual scope of the work that Atul does. - Mike: How do we get companies to pre-pay for the parser? - Bob: We can create the license documents and have them pay for that. - Actual code delivery will take place later. - Mike: Will we involve potential parser source buyers in the spec process? Bob showed IBIS 6.0 Additions Summary - Bob described the changes that affect the parser. - Tree parsing will be required for [External Circuit] and [External Model]. - Bob: This may be a three month project. - We usually write a Statement of Work. - Mike: We need to get our updated message list to Atul soon. - Bob: Will Atul have to manually update or do we re-extract? - Mike: I think he should manually update - The script might be extended to at least find what is new. - Mike: Are the parser licenses customized for each customer? - Bob: We have one for IBISCHK5 - Each customer signs the same form - One question is whether the IBIS committee can sign or if SAE does. - The latest parser license has language saying IBIS grants the license, but also mentions SAE. - SAE is happy with that. - Mike: SAE has been involved in parser licensing? - Bob: For the last one sold. - Mike: We should draft the IBISCHK6 license soon. - Bob: We need to decide on the price first. - Mike: Can we change the price later on this parser? - Bob: We have changed price in the past. - Mike: Should we push for a decision soon on whether to combine membership and parser sales? - Bob: Yes, but if we bring in more revenue we don't want SAE to then ask for more money. - TechAmerica had raised their price. - Mike: TechAmerica was paying three people, SAE only one. - It would be good to review the license document. - Bob: We can do that - The key elements are the price and the name of the parser. - Mike: There was discussion at open forum about the relationship between minor spec revs and the parser - The parser does have a minor rev number that relates to spec minor revs - Bob: We do not retain the .0 parsers intact. - Using a .1 parser a .0 file is expected to comply with .1 rules. - I have created a keyword tree diagram that documents when keywords were introduced. - This is in the 6.0 spec directory. - The tree in the actual spec does not have that information. AR: Mike contact Michael Mirmak about working with SiSoft and Cadence on DLL checking AR: Mike contact Michael Mirmak asking for a board meeting on parser license terms Meeting ended at 12:11 Eastern Time.
